Tractor view to the SMiLE
Far away from all the city noise we could admire the clear sky full of stars and… tractors. What? Yeah… tractors. What do you mean? I mean in the morning. What happened in the morning? Well.. after a sound sleep we wake up in a sunny morning far away from the highway, but right in the middle of a tractor way, so...Venice in a drop of SMiLE
So yes, when you need to get somewhere, you take a Taxi; a boat taxi that is. Everything is alive in Venice. From the Gondolas floating down the ‘streets’ of Venice, to the narrow walkways with tall raggedy buildings, to the laundry hanged on the balconies, to the small cute restaurants with romantic ‘mariachis’ playing on the moonlight. All over the Alps
The temperature shock was crazy. We slept at the bottom of the Alps in Interlaken where the beautiful lakes and amazingly, the light bugs made it for a magical night for us. The temperature there was almost + 30 degrees C. When we got to the top of the pass, the snow was SMiLing at us at a freezing 0 degrees that found us in shorts and t-shirtsSurf’s up in Bern !!!
The funniest guy had an extendable rope (maybe bungee) tied to a 30 m high bridge. Holding onto it, he was taking his surfboard and going down the river until the rope was tight enough to pull him up stream and start surfing. Really cool stuff. From Paris with Love :)
Another thing that seemed interesting about France is that it was a return to the ‘known’ kind of civilization: the people on the street, the shops and boutiques, the architecture and even the toilets….hurray… again we don’t need to pay to go in :) This is a sign that we are on our returning route from the first part of our western European SMiLE tour.Atomic SMiLE
We visited the amazing Atomium which is a huge, shiny… atom :) Lots of tourists around and after we danced with some Turkish guys we wanted to take some extra footage for the video. This caught the attention of 2 other groups of people (one from Brazil and one from Congo) who immediately volunteered to dance and have fun with us.SMiLE me tender
Probably all of you heard something about the Greek or Turkish seaside. And yes, we will get there soon also, but personally I never heard anything about the Dutch seaside :) That’s why we wanted so much to take a look. And… here we are.- – - A M S T E R D A M – - -
750000 people living in Amsterdam and around 900.000 bicycles. Yes, correct! More bikes than people. Statistics say that in the center of the city 48% of traffic movement is by bike. And really that’s how it is. Cars seem like a very secondary way of transportation. EVERYBODY rides their bikes: from children to over 70 years old people. On the way to almost there
Today on the menu, road trip: 700 km from Berlin to Amsterdam. After a nice rest and dance in the capital of Germany, we are ready for a loooong journey to our next group SMiLE. We are so excited to finally meet Amsterdam!Berlin meets the SMiLE
In Berlin we realized that so far, 90% of the people we danced with in our SMiLE tour are tourists, meaning they are not from the country we currently are in. So for example in Berlin we danced with 3 groups of people: from Spain, from France and from China.Wet Wet Wet
The moment we set foot on the weirdly modern Katowice, Oxana’s attention is attracted by some distant chirping sounds of children playing. That was our cue. We gotta go there. So we did. And indeed one never goes wrong when it comes to children having fun in a water fountain.Factories of SMiLE
The factory of SMiLEs (Modiwo) arrives is Ostrava (the city of factories). This is our 4th stop on our tour and a very special one. Here is the place where we could take our first real shower and could afford fancy things like… water, soap and a real toilet :DThe city with thousands of SMiLEs
Incredible! This is the 3rd day on the SMiLE tour and it seems to be getting better and better. Today we had the hottest group ever! :) Starring at the clear (brown) Danube and the boats and restaurants on the shores, we noticed a very colorful skateboarders group.Bratislava in a SMiLE
Day 2, success number 2 we find ourselves in a beautiful Bratislava, marked with wide streets and … funky workers :D We almost got a video of us dancing with a construction crew over thereBudapest was a HIT!
Budapest was a hit! We think the world was waiting for our SMiLE tour to start. People in Budapest were so nice and warm and … FUN! Yes! We did it! Our first day on the road just ended. And boy… what a day.Just SMiLE – video tour
10.000 km, 1000 liters of gas, 100 cities, 40 days on the road, over 20 contries, 4 seas and thousands of SMiiiiLEs collected. This is what we are getting ready for.Anybody seen a drummer?
After our bumpy road ‘party’ at Trypilske kolo festival near Kiev, we are getting ready for the next Ukrainian super adventure: Woodstock! One thing missing though: a drummer. Just yesterday, Samy, our lucky charm, broke 3 fingers and now we are fervently looking for a replacement drummer. Do you happen to know one available who can learn our repertoire in 2 days? :DTuning up on the way to Ukraine
Next stop Ukraine. Name of the festival: “Trypilske kolo” which translates as: Trypillian circle and presents super-dooper alternative life-styles :) This year we were so happy to hear from the organizers who invited us to take part in this great idea.Hypnotize me
6 months. This is how much time it took us to finish the song we’re going to present to you today. We started working on ‘Hypnotize me’ in 2013 and it went through so many changes that the initial song is a vague replica of what we have today.
