Rain...such an amazing phenomenon! Rain is life. Without it, nothing grows; and in the same time it has a very mystical aspect and mysterious power to bring up all kinds of feelings and moods. There’s no limit. It’s the most inspiring moment of nature and without inspiration there is no meaning to the word artist.
Today, the sound of our instruments will pierce the heavy clouds and light your soul just like thunderbolts light the sky on a stormy weather. Today will be raining with energy; the vibe will make everyone become a source of energy and good mood!
We love these kinds of trips. Although they can be quite tiring, we have a lot of fun. As usually, a band’s car is always full of… equipment. Adi has to play Tetris with all the luggage in order to fit perfectly everything we have. We generally like driving with the top down, but as we don’t have a convertible car, we just turn on the air conditioning and let the fresh ‘wind’ blow through our hair. :)
Sanskrit is what we call ‘the icing on the cake’. :) The use of Sanskrit in our concept helps us express the unknown, the unutterable, the mysterious side of things. It’s what we, as beings, don’t understand, what we can’t guess, what we can’t conceive in our own existence and lives. It’s the profound answers we are always looking for.
Cocktails! They were always a mystery to me. It’s amazing how the final taste of a great cocktail is so different and much better than the separate components. In our 2 Fruit Fusion caravans we managed to collect almost one ton and a half of fruits: apples, bananas, oranges, pineapples, kiwis, grapefruits, coconuts, pomegranates, pomelos, lemons and even raisins and pistachios. This is what we call Fruit Fusion!

First of all, let’s introduce ourselves! We are Modiwo. Maybe you wonder why Modiwo? Our music has no boundaries neither of style nor language, so we wanted a name that expresses this concept.

When we see “lama”, we think about percussion music and instruments. Tribal mood. What if for our next concert we organize a special jam session moment for our lama fans?
We like to say that alternative world music is a blend of present with the past, resulting a fusion of modern influences, all this together creating the image of our band. Alternative style means freshness, energy and modern sounds. World Music can be defined as the tendency to recontextualize sounds of the traditional past.
“Fruit Fusion” as a musical gift is about our fruit raising project. We will have a series of concerts, and the entrance fee is one kilo of fruits. All the fruits will be collected and donated to children and elder people shelters. We say it’s an original Modiwo concept because it’s unique in Romania and it represents us as humans and musicians.
Music is about feeling, not about understanding – maybe this is the best way to explain the concept of World Music. Through lyrics and sounds we emphasize the emotional side of people, knowing that the only difference between them is the way they express their feelings and emotions.
