Music can be many things to many people: fun, inspiration, relaxation, meditation and it can be the food one ‚eats’ everyday. This is what music means to us: we feed on what we play and invite others to taste from our ‘cookie jar’. You can savor them one by one each day, or many in the same time because there is no diabetes danger from what we create ;)
So it stops being a fight between the urban and the tribal, but a unique harmony between the two opposites. This is where tradition comes in. There are so many really cool traditional sounds, instruments and rhythms that just wait to be explored and put into new perspective. And this is what we do. We take the tribal and put it in an urban kind of manner to fit the need for new, for something „weird”.
Wherever we play, we like to have fun. This is the main thing. Whenever we have fun, the audience also feels it and tends to join us. And this is what we did at Peninsula Festival were we played few days ago.
After concerts people come to us (smile up to their ears) and try to describe what they feel when they listen to us. The funny thing is they hardly ever manage. Seems like before coming, they had everything clear in their mind, but when trying to express it, they can’t. So, many of them just say...’you guys make me feel good’. And this is in fact all we need to hear. Right there! Mission accomplished :)
We travel all around the world and see so many wonderful things. This Earth is full of amazing people, places, feeling, adventures and sounds. And that’s why World Music is an important aspect for us; because the mosaic of the World is the best place to find inspiration. Everything comes so easy when you have such a huge range of motives, cultures and instruments to choose from.
As you know from all our bragging about it, we are in full process of finishing our first album. You can see this on our facebook page where we regularly post photos from our creation moments. Because of this, we took a break from the stage in order to concentrate fully on the new songs which we want to be pure awesomeness :) Still, we couldn’t resist when we received an invitation from Peninsula Festival.
Summer and fun are practically synonymous. Summer is the time when it’s the BIG school break, when people go on holidays, at the seaside, mountains, exotic countries and the time when there are so many activities to choose from that you wish all year long was summer. Be it summer or winter we also love to have fun.
In African tradition it is said that a skilled player ’can make his djembe talk’. Our djembe has its own story. Coming straight from Ghana, it went on a trip to New York, then Paris and then Romania. While working in the US, Adi became fascinated by the underground musical world swarming in New York subways.
The concert stage is a miniature of the stage called life. We are born at the beginning of the concert and we die at the end just to be reborn again at the next concert. The stage is a place where we learn and feel. It’s the place where the heart is more alive than ever.
